Contra Costa Water District Alternative Intake Project

CanalWelcome to the Contra Costa Water District’s Alternative Intake Project website.
Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) and the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) have completed the planning phase of CCWD’s Alternative Intake Project. The project is the most significant CALFED drinking water quality project to complete planning studies and be ready for design and construction.
The Alternative Intake Project will help protect CCWD’s customers from seasonal fluctuations and long-term degradation of water quality in the Delta. At the same time, the project provides benefits for important Delta fish populations and results in no significant impacts to other Delta water users.
