Welcome to the Contra Costa Water District’s Alternative Intake Project website. Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) and the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) have completed the planning phase of CCWD's Alternative Intake Project. Construction is beginning in spring 2008 and is expected to be completed in 2010. The Alternative Intake Project will help protect CCWD's customers from seasonal fluctuations and long-term degradation of water quality in the Delta. At the same time, the project provides benefits for important Delta fish populations and results in no significiant impacts to other Delta water users.
